I miss this pool, the subject of many of my oil and acrylic canvases...where I would have experienced the sonic treat of migrating Canada geese flying south ahead of incoming winter. Yesterday I could hear them high overhead before they entered the visible field in blue. Much as the sound of a distant little league baseball crowd screaming through town from a nearby park the geese sent their joyful calls ahead of the approaching V in the sky.

basketBOWL and BIRDnest forms 2001-2012
The exhibition of basket forms at JCC Patio Gallery are woven in rattan, honeysuckle and akebia vine. Based on the sphere and often reduced to a "bowl" or hemisphere, often nested in layers and inter-woven, these forms evolved from my exposure to traditional Japanese basketry used in the work of Hisako Sekijima when Brookfield Craft Center hosted her workshop in 1983 at the now closed Connecticut historic site.
