For the Koi, the LOTUS was introduced into the pool this July 4th weekend; 'fixing a hole' where the pond gets out... allowed me the motivation to stabilize the ecosystem of the pond with a deeply planted lotus from a nearby gardener who has many beautiful specimens blooming in his 'back forty'. I understand the balance brought by the floating broadleaf "lily" will allow a better wintering-over for the fish, many over 5 years running who have managed to freeze, thaw and freeze many seasons of our Kentucky climate. Blossom photos later in August will be a gift from the goddess of nature.
